QUERY CRITIQUE SESSION
Writers who seek publication are required to write query letters in order to convince an agent or editor to take them on as clients, or to accept their manuscripts for publication.
Query letters are a part of every aspiring author’s arsenal, and yet they are often difficult to write. In one page, you pitch your manuscript by giving a catchy summary of your story, you also have to introduce yourself as a writer.
Since the query is your first contact with a potential literary agent or editor, it has to be perfectundefinedor at least free of the usual errors that might cause them to send you a rejection letter, rather than a request for a full copy of your manuscript.
In this session, participants will bring copies of their query letter for other attendees to give helpful feedback on.
What to Bring:
- 1. 25 copies of your query letter.
- 2. A voice/tape recorder if you wish to record your critique.
- 3. A notebook/pad and pen to use for your critique notes.
Registration is limited to 25 participants only, so register now.
The Query Critique is FREE for REGISTERED CBW-LA Members.
Non-members will have to pay $10.
