Eight Precious Writing Tips No One Talks About

This craft-oriented workshop focuses on eight practical tips to help writers take their writing to the next level that the instructor finds woefully neglected in most writing instruction. Tips include how to embrace chance in your concept generation process; why infodumps are gauche and how to cunningly hide them; how to instantly make the diversity in your writing more realistic; how to learn from radically different story structures such as the East Asian four-act structure; and how to bullet-time dodge imposture syndrome. In-class exercises include flash writing sprints, Surrealist parlor games, and method acting/improv challenges.
